Ubisoft E3 2017 Round-up
In a thoroughly entertaining show, Ubisoft showed off some of the most exciting games we’ve seen at this E3 and thankfully, there was almost no cringe in sight!
In lieu of Aisha Tyler presenting like years past, many developers took to the stage and spoke with heartfelt passion about their games, with more than a few teary eyed creators excited to reveal their games to the world.
From an exciting new partnership with Nintendo to the resurrection of an old classic, we’re very excited for these upcoming releases!
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Release date: August 29th 2017
This is the story of an unexpected encounter between Mario and the irreverent Rabbids. To bring order back to a splintered Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi team up with Rabbids heroes in a journey through four different worlds.
Outwit unpredictable enemies in dynamic turn-based combat and co-op challenges, and solve puzzles along the way. Discover a feel-good and modern combat adventure designed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch™ system, playable anywhere, anytime, with anyone.
Nintendo have really come out of their shell this year (get it?). They’ve been compared to Apple in terms of their ‘walled garden’ policy before, but now they’ve opened up. They released Super Mario Run, their first iOS game late last year and now they’re teaming up with Ubisoft.
Kudos to Ubisoft too for their role in this concept of merging franchises.
It’s a new adventure – a turn based Mario. Based on the gameplay shown it looked both fun and interesting. Our hopes are high and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.

Ubisoft showed gameplay of the newest entry into the Far Cry series, showing some intense combat, and introducing some allies in game, including the dog Boomer, who takes down baddies and fetches you guns (good boy!). We are very excited to take on what looks like another iconic villain of the Far Cry series, and the fanatic cult that plagues Hope county, Montana.

Transference™ is a psychological thriller and the first game collaboration between SpectreVision and Ubisoft Montreal. Bridging the gap between movies and games, we invite you to lose yourself in the destructive tale of a man’s obsession as you explore his digitally recreated memories.
Escape the maze-like puzzle of an impossible home concealing a corrupted truth. Meet the troubled family members and get hands-on to solve their riddle through a multi-branching narrative. You directly influence their fate and decide their future.
Transference is a VR game which will attempt to bridge the gap between moves and video games. The trailer definitely got our attention. It even featured an appearance from
Daniel Radcliffe Elijah Wood, whose studio will work on the title. It looks both creepy and trippy and its safe to say we’re up for both!
Each publisher seems to be bringing new VR titles which bodes well for its future. Watch this space.
Skull and Bones
Release date: Fall 2018
Become the ultimate pirate.
It is the Golden Age of Pirates. Renegade captains command the most powerful weapons on Earth, warships. You are an upstart pirate captain who refused the King’s pardon and sailed from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, an untamed frontier full of lavish riches.
However, these waters are also a battleground where far-reaching colonial empires, powerful trading corporations, and ruthless pirate gangs ferociously clash.
In order to survive, you will have to build a lethal fleet, prey upon lucrative trade routes, and ally with other pirates to join the endless struggle for supremacy.
If you like pirates then this E3 is the one for you. Between this and Sea of Thieves we’re having a hard time choosing right now. There’s only one solution, we simply need to see more of both! The cinematic trailer for Skull and Bones was one of the best we’ve seen to far at E3, and being a Black Sails fan it blew my mind!
Consider this one on our (rather long) wishlist!
Starlink: Battle for Atlas
Release date: Fall 2018

Lead a group of heroic interstellar pilots who use modular starships to mix and match their unique gear and skills on the fly. Travel the stars to unite the galaxy against villainous destructive forces.
Anything sci-fi related is something I look forward to and Starlink is no different. We don’t know too much about the game so far but we’re really curious about the Amiibo-like action figures can be used within the game.
